History
Amy Herbst and Piya Gasper met in 2007 while working for Advocate Health Care in Chicago. While working together in process improvement, it was immediately evident that a very real symbiotic relationship formed between their complementary skill sets and backgrounds. Piya's law degree from Loyola gives her a unique insight into the impacts of decisions that a healthcare institution makes, while Amy's Industrial Engineering degree from UW-Madison gives her the ability to break down, refine, and perfect, processes of all sizes.
It was this perfect pairing of their knowledge and experience that led Piya and Amy to realize that they could combine their efforts to offer a rounded and refined approach to healthcare advisory; thus, Pursue Consulting.

Amy Herbst
Based on her experience in process improvement, change and project management, Amy believes in solving complex system problems using innovation and problem-solving with multi-disciplinary, blended teams. This approach has resulted in successful change throughout a patient’s experience including, improving safety in surgery, enhancing communication and handoffs in critical care, and increasing efficiency and flow in patient access. Amy previously was the Director of Operations Improvement at Advocate Health Care, the largest integrated health system in Illinois.

Piya Gasper, JD, MPH
Piya views the world of health care from many different angles, using her training and experience in law, public health, research, process improvement and compliance. She believes in challenging her clients to think through process issues and arrive at sustainable solutions. Piya previously held leadership roles in compliance at Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, and was the Compliance Officer for the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center.
